The ratio of children born outside marriage is gradually rising up to 19,8%. It is evident especially with young mothers. Mothers to 18 years of age give birth to around 20 % of the total number. The highest occurrence is registered mostly in the following towns: Prešov, Poprad, Banská Bystrica, Rimavská Sobota...
It has been discovered that good getting on with mother was declared by 93,1% children, with father it was13% less. It has also come out that the boys´ evaluation of fathers was similar to that of the girls´.
In the year 2001 there were 9 817 marriages divorced while almost 80% applications of divorcement were proposed by women. Around 30% of the divorcing marriages were childless marriages.
In the year 2001 complete family households represented 56,4% of all households in the SR. Of all one-pa-rent families were almost 90% of them led by a mother and only 10% rest were managed by a father.
