  • Our village lie near Slovak-Moravian frontier. When in 1993 Slovakia became an independent country it started to a borderland with the Czech republic.

  • From Our town it is not so far to Bratislava (the capital city of Slovakia) but also to Vienna (the capital city of Austria) and to Brno (the second biggest town in the Czech republic).

  • Fortunately Gajary did not undergo different negative changes in last 30 years. Lot of villages have improved their external looks and people live in comfortable, healthy houses. People have changed their small houses into big stone building. The desire of each inhabitant is to live in his or her own house.

  • The biggest changes appeared after the World War II. when the Communist party took control. That was the start of socialism in Czechoslovakia

  • In 1949 was established Incorporated agricultural association in Gajary, That meant every farmer had to enter into this association. Those who did not scant their properties and their works in association, were declared as an enemy. Majority of them were also punished. After several years of wickedness the association started to flourish. People started to work on their own land. This brought the village to prosperity. After the Velvet revolution in 1989 everything has changed. The association had some problems and people moved to bigger town. The year 2003 was acclaimed as a total collapse of Incorporated agricultural association in Gajary. .
