A Forgotten Champion - Anna Blanarikova-Chmelkova

  • The Champion of Europe - 400 meters in running in 1966 (53,9 sec. It was the world’s second best time).
  • The Champion of Czechoslovakia in the years 1964, 1966 1968 and 1969.
  • The participant in the Olympic games in Mexico in 1968 (she fell out in the semifinal).
  • The holder of records - 400 meters running in the CSSR.
  • The Sport Champion (1966) and a merited Sport Champion (1968).

 

  • She was born on the 26th July 1944 in Spacince.

  • She had successfully suspended the career in 1968, when she started to take care of her son Vladimir (till then her mother-in-law took care about him).

  • After finishing the FF UK she worked as a librarian.

  • Curiosity – Anna finished the high school in the area, where now is situated our upper Secondary school of Transport (Kvacalova).
